Receiving SPAM leads and using enabling the image key (CAPTCHA)?

Avoiding Spam and Robots in DEFAULT FORMS

By default, LinkURealty enables a image verification field (CAPTCHA) on your lead forms. This is mainly because of the increase in spam sent through web forms on your website. To avoid getting these types of fake leads / contacts, generated by automated scripts, the image verification feature (CAPTCHA) requires the person to enter the characters from the image into a text field. Since a script cannot do this, the features ensures the form is being completed be a live person.

To disable or enable this feature, you may do so from your Website Settings located in your website administration.

  1. Login to your website administration.
  2. Click on the Website Settings icon.
  3. Check/uncheck the setting, "Disable Form Verification (Disable Use of Verification Image on Forms)" to enable/disable it.
  4. Click the "Save Changes" button located on the bottom of the webpage.

Avoiding Spam and Robots in CUSTOM FORMS

Using CAPTCHA is HIGHLY recommended, so sure to add the verification image to your custom form using the the text box and the hidden field below. See the Custom Forms article for more information on custom forms.

Use this short code where you want the CAPTCHA to appear. It must be within the <form> tag.

You can use the short code, [!#captcha] or the following code:

<img src="/website/forms/imagekey1.jpg" />
<input name="imagekey" type="text" />
<input type="hidden" name="verifyform" value="1" />
